Kian fixed income indices are developed as a pioneer tool for monitoring the price and yield movements of bonds in the securities markets of Iran. As a first in the market product, the indices offer insight for investors seeking objective and methodologically sound benchmarks for measuring performance of their fixed income investments.
The family of indices are comprised of the main fixed income index and three sub-indices indicating price and yield movements of a meticulously selected portfolio of bonds based on issuer risk. For the main index and the three sub-indices, tradeable (liquid) fixed income instruments are selected as part of the portfolio and rebalanced periodically to offer realistic insight into the price and yield movements of these instruments. The base date for calculation of the price index is January 1 2017 and the bonds in the portfolio are rebalanced quarterly in compliance with the selection criteria published in the index methodology. The average maturity of the portfolio is between 1-3 years.
The Kian Fixed Income Indices are presented on an interactive chart. On the chart to the left, you can zoom in on dates displayed by clicking and dragging and can also select to show or hide indices. You can also see index and yields on a specific date by rolling over the chart.
